Provided service on 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimted. Installed new battery and returned the vehicle without the radio, auto stop and outlets properly working. I was given the excuse that the radio wasn't working when the jeep arrived which wasn't true. Then I was told that they didnt have the equipment to reprogram the radio or it was shorted out. They recommended that I go to the dealership to have it reprogrammed. If this information was known prior to performing the work I should have been informed and referred to the dealership and not them getting paid for just installing a battery. Needless to say the battery was removed without grounding to save the program settings. I was told they were not aware of the auto stop not working prior to releasing it to me. I will be requesting a copy of the diagnostic report and returning my vehicle for them to fix the issues.
I’m sorry you had a bad experience with Fort Washington Tire Pros. However, installing a battery will not cause these problems, and keeping the radio grounded will not store the programing in the radio. The radio would have to stay power and grounded at all times. The vehicle was towed into us with a dead battery and the tow truck driver put a jump box on the truck and drove it onto our lot. There is no way to know that the auto start or the radio is not going to work until we install a battery and get the vehicle running. It was noted on the ticket that prior to coming to our shop Someone had the vehicle running and took the battery cables off and it cut off. This will cause problems to a vehicle. You should never start a vehicle and disconnect battery cables. This will short modules in the vehicle And cause potential damage. If you would like, please bring the vehicle back I will recheck everything but if it needs a new module, unfortunately it will have to go to the dealership. Installing a battery will not cause harm on a vehicle unless installed improperly. Your battery was installed properly.
